The Closing General Session will focus on Environmental Justice, one of the most important and controversial issues in Public Health. For years minorities and the underserved have had their concerns regarding pollution and environmental hazards ignored or minimized. This is a health, quality and equity issue. This session will feature a leading academic and a preeminent government regulator to define the issue, note the progress we have made, and identify what remains to be done. This topic is strongly linked to APHA’s priority of addressing health disparities and offers a dynamic and thought provoking conclusion to the APHA 132nd Annual Meeting. | |||
