Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, the participant in this session will be able to: 1. Describe hepatitis C virus infection in the maternal and pediatric population as a public health concern in the United States 2. Describe the incidence and etiology of diarrhea among children in a local study population relative to the population at large and provide reasons for discrepancies 3. Become more aware of efforts to assess clinical subtypes in autism as a means of focusing genetic and other research efforts 4. Recognize the value of video in increasing knowledge about iron deficiency and dietary interventions to increase iron content in the diet. 5. Develop and use quality assurance procedures in order to improve their immunization practices 6. List the maternal factors having detrimental effects of the condition of neonates at birth. 7. Articulate the procedure for assessing the health status of newborn with respect to different maternal factors. 8. Assist in planning interventions for improving the health status of newborns.
