Oral health is integral to general health. Health care providers should contribute to enhancing oral health by including an oral examination as part of a general medical examination, advising patients in matters of tobacco cessation and diet, and referring patients to oral health practitioners for care. Educating health care professionals about oral health and utilizing a multidisciplinary approach will result in better general health outcomes. | |||
