Food insecurity, not having access to nutritionally adequate and safe foods, puts populations at risk for health consequences. The purpose of this session is to address current issues related to food insecurity, emergency food systems, and food program participation as well as to present food insecurity in special populations such as pregnant women and children and the relationship to health outcomes. | |||
Learning Objectives: 1. Identify 2 programs that potentially help to address food insecurity. 2. Discuss health consequences of food security in a specific population. | |||
