Howard Frumkin, MD, DrPH, FACP, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Emory University, The Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University, 1518 Clifton Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30322, 404-727-3697, medhf@sph.emory.edu

Pediatric Environmental Health Specialty Units (PEHSUs) are academic-based units, funded by USEPA and ATSDR, that offer technical consultation, clinical evaluation, training, and other services, related to environmental exposures that may affect children's health. The constituents include families, health care providers, health agencies, community groups, and others. This presentation will describe PEHSU activities generally, and will then focus on the activities of the PEHSUs with regard to health disparities and environmental justice. Opportunities for further PEHSU involvement in this important arena will be discussed.
