Dr. Barnett is a nationally recognized expert in the community benefit arena, and has devoted the last decade to conducting research and providing technical assistance to hospitals, health systems, government agencies, and community groups. He is currently the principal investigator of a multi-state demonstration to develop and implement uniform standards for community benefit programming among 71 hospitals in California, Texas, Nevada, and Arizona. His experience gives him a unique perspective on what is common and what is different across states and institutions.
