The use of the SAMHSA National Registry of Effective Programs (NREP) as well as the Addiction Technolgy Transfer Centers (ATTC) system provide methods that need to be cultivated in order to disseminate information relative to LGBT substance use prevention and treatment. There are very few independent LGBT substance use prevention efforts and treatment programs across the country. Therefore, unlike some communities, existing programs need to be educated and trained to effectively work with LGBT communities. This session will explore the routes through these systems out to communities to facilitate valuable approaches to LGBT substance use prevention and treatment.
