This poster session provides an overview of children's risk of exposure to environmental contaminants. In addition to exposure to lead other emerging threats such as CCA treated wood and PM2.5 particulate matter will also be presented. There will also be an overview of the differences in metabolism that make children particularly susceptable to environmental exposures. Finally several successful initiatives to improve and protect the health of children will be presented.
Learning Objectives: After attending this session the participant will be able to: 1) Describe the differences that make children particularly susceptible to environmental hazards 2) Describe Specific exposures that children face in their environment 3) Describe the steps and collaborations necessary to sucessfully reduce children's exposure to lead and other contaminants
