This session constitutes the Environment Section’s Student Achievement Poster session. Ten finalists were selected from papers submitted by students who elected to be considered for the section’s Student Achievement Award. The abstracts selected for this session will provide information on environmental health advocacy, the use of GIS and spatial analyses, identify sources of lead exposure and how behaviors and socioeconomic factors are all related to environmental public health concerns. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the end of this session participants will be able to: 1. Effectively engage nurses and nursing students in environmental advocacy. 2. Describe the utility of spatial analyses and GIS to understand environmental health. 3. Understand how behaviors, social norms, and socioeconomic factors can affect environmental concerns. 4. Identify and categories the differences in sources of lead exposure for Hispanic and non-Hispanic children. | |||
