Public Health Issues and Challenges
This is a grouping of eclectic speakers discussing topics that range from Mental Health to Social Marketing to Partnerships to HIV/AIDS.
Learning Objectives: Participants will:
(1) Articulate how CDCynergy-SOC can assist the public health practitioner in the development, implementation and evaluation of a "best practice" social marketing program.
(2) Be able to articulate how a scenario-based, highly interactive program called “Orientation to Public Health” is delivered via the Web at no cost to all who are interested.
(3) Identify how partnerships between the academic and community settings can be facilitated by Area Health Education Centers nationally.
(4) Recongnize the importance of continued community-based mental-health services to seriouly mentally disordered parolees, particularly early prevention and intervention treatment,in reducing recidivism rate. (5) Have a greater understanding of the challenges facing those living with HIV/AIDs in Ethiopia, in the midst of a pervasive climate of fear and discrimination
