Why Does the US Healthcare System Cost So Much? - Update on Health Services Research
The American health care system, while an international leader in many ways, is also the most expensive health care system in the world, despite leaving many people without insurance and, therefore, with limited access to care. This session considers the structural factors which make the cost of care as high as it is, and which drive the long term trend in the share of U.S. GDP which is spent on health care.
Learning Objectives: To understand why the U.S. health care system costs so much more than any other.
