Nurses, the largest group of health care providers in the country, are increasingly challenged to respond to community and individual concerns about environmental exposures and health outcomes. This session will offer insight into these concerns as well as multiple assessment, intervention and advocacy tools that public health practitioners and health educators can use when working with individuals and communities. | |||
Learning Objectives: At the completion of this session the participant will be able to: 1. Discuss the challenges of working with communities on environmental issues. 2. List tools available to assist the practitioner in performing environmental assessments and interventions. 3. Discuss the importance of environmental health advocacy training for public health practitioners. | |||
