The presentation will review the impact of war on various levels of public health. Covered will be the direct and "indirect" consequences of warfare, including a focus on impacts on Iraq over the past decade. In addition, the talk will also review the domestic and global costs of the preparations for war, which negatively impact the world's ability to develop "upstream" solutions for significant current and looming environmental and public health issues.
