Using pooled data (1995-2000) from the National Mortality Files, we will examine age-specific death rates, antecedent causes of hypertension-related deaths differences age-standardized rates between Latino and non-Latino women by race, education, and region, and differences in co-morbidities for women by Latino subgroup, age, race, education, and region. These data can provide clinical insight into subgroup as well as regional differences in age-specific and age-standardized hypertension-related death rates and generate knowledge to develop new public health frameworks for the prevention and reduction study of hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and stroke among Latinas.
