Public health agencies response to indoor mold issues in California

This session will discuss how both local health deparments in California, and the California Department of Health Services respond to the increasing public demand for assistance on mold related issues. The presentation will summarize the types and magnitude of services related to indoor mold,provided to the public, by both county and city environmental health agencies in California. The volume of phone inquiries has increased by almost ten-fold within the last 7 years, and new regulations related to indoor mold are pending. The focus of most mold questions is on mold health effects and mold cleanup.
