The presentation will describe the short-term and long-term effects of the Israeli violations of international human rights and humanitarian laws on three million Palestinians living under military occupation in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza Strip, during the second Palestinian uprising, starting September 2000.
Several aspects of the situation will be presented: - Temporal trends in deaths and injuries and their causes among Palestinians. A look at the spatial distribution of deaths and injuries will also be presented.
- The effects of the siege and closures on health care provision, especially for surveillance activities, supervision and referrals, secondary and tertiary services in urban areas, primary health care special programs such as vaccination services and maternal and child health programs.
