This session will describe the personalized nutrition feedback process for African American, Hispanic American and White American participants of the Healthy Environments Partnership Project (HEP). HEP is a community-based participatory research project examining health disparities in Detroit as related to both physical and social environments. These reports served as personalized nutritional assessments providing feedback to study participants about their macro- and micronutrient intakes as well as sources from their own food choices, that were determined using a HEP adapted version of the Block Food Frequency Questionnaire. Spanish language feedback reports were generated for the Hispanic American participants. The session will conclude by discussing the role of the feedback reports in the larger goals of the HEP project in addressing health disparities and cardiovascular disease.
