This session will focus on continually changing health care policy as it affects Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders. As a heterogeneous population with significant number of immigrants, limited English proficiency and differing health profiles, federal and local government health policies tend to have a disparate impact on our populations. The discussion of issues will include: continuing restoration of health and related assistance to immigrants, implementation of culturally and linguistically appropriate policies and programs, expansion of community health centers, and progress in federal initiatives for reducing and eliminating health disparities.

Learning Objectives:

• 1.List three current policy interventions to improve AAPI access to health and/or quality of care.
• 2.Identify potential access points for expansion of health services for API populations.
• 3.Identify resources for additional research.
