This session will focus on health issues associated with recent immigration to the U.S. Papers will present research findings and program strategies describing aculturation stress, health behaviors, and nurses' cultural competence in addressing needs of immigrant populations. | |||
Learning Objectives: 1. Recognize acculturation stress and social support networks in immigrant populations; 2. Discuss strategies fostering nurses' understanding of diverse cultures and provision of culturally competent care; and 3. Describe community-driven health partnerships in immigrant neighborhoods. | |||
