Terrorism and International Human Rights
In this session, six speakers will discuss current issues pertaining to terrorism and international human rights, including the ways in which terrorism and responses to terrorism can abrogate civil rights and human rights; the human rights situation in Afghanistan before and after the response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon; the relationship of terrorism and responses to it to international justice; and exploration of the roots of terrorism and how thay can be addressed while protecting human rights.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the session, participants will be able to: (1) Describe current ssues pertaining to terrorism and international human rights, and 2 plan educational activities concerning these issues
