Over the past three years, a Task Force on Public Health Infrastructure of the Public Health Association of New York City (PHANYC) has convened a series of seminars on the public health infrastructure of New York City. The report of the Task Force, entitled ?Strengthening New York City?s Public Health Infrastructure,? was published in September 2001 and has attracted considerable attention and favorable comment, both locally and nationally. On December 12, 2001, members of the PHANYC Board of Directors and other public health leaders met in a Public Health Leadership Seminar, resulting in a second report, ?Public Health at a Crossroads.? Copies of both reports will be available at the poster session. The work of the Task Force was supported by the New York Community Trust. PHANYC will continue to work on public health infrastructure issues and their application to New York City and other cities.
