Public Health Departments must develop and maintain a cadre of workers and information technology professionals that can meet the growing demands and requirements that health departments now face. A well trained work force, proficient in operating in a networked environment and knowledgeable about common desktop applications are critical to help assure that public health programs and services are provided to constituents in an effective and efficient manner.

Public Health Departments also have a critical requirement to have information technology specialists that are well trained and credentialed to meet the growing demand for designing and maintaining state-of-the-art networks and systems.

Learning Objectives:

• Identification of key training requirements for public health departments to meet their changing role and responsibility
