The presenter will describe his work promoting a unity of workers’, provider’s and patients’ interests from the perspective of a housekeeping worker and union activist. at Jefferson Hospital, Philadelphia. Part of this has been promoting the principle of “Serve the Patients” directly on the job and in the National Union of Hospital and Healthcare Employees Local 1199C He will also describe work in the Philadelphia Area Committee to Defend Healthcare.
