The Challenge Grant program was developed by the APHA Executive Board to help Affiliates, Caucuses, Sections and SPIGS meet APHA strategic and policy priorities and to enhance membership recruitment.

Each year, APHA makes funds available, on a competitive basis, to Sections, Special Primary Interests Groups (SPIGS), Caucuses and Affiliates to conduct priority projects which cannot be funded through these entities' existing resources. The Executive Board encourages collaboration between the APHA entities and gives priority consideration to collaborative proposals.

Over the years, the Challeng Grant program has funded several,low-cost efforts that have resulted in replicable tools and resources. In addition, grantees have learned many lessons related to program development and implementation. This poster session will provide an opportunity for grantees to share lessons learned, tools, and other resources.

Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to

• Recognize opportunities and understand approaches for using the identified best practices for strengtening public health at a state and/or local level.
• Gain new insight about the importance of low-cost interventions to address APHA priorities.
