A discussant will be selected from an academic setting. S/he will review the papers in advance and offer prepared remarks, comparing and contrasting the agencies’ presentations, as well as bringing a more theoretical perspective. Time will also be reserved in this panel session for participation from the audience.

Learning Objectives:

The discussant on APHA panels plays a unique and critical role. Listeners will

a)Increase understanding of the comparative analysis of the contributions of Ford Foundation. WHO, UNFPA and NGOs to work on sexual health, and
b)Improve their knowledge of how these agencies’ efforts fit into academic approaches to sexology and to sexual health as a public health issue.
