In 1994 Inland Northwest Health Services (INHS) was formed when the major Spokane hospital corporations had the vision to cast aside the prevailing competition each faced and identify areas of collaboration. The collaborations grew and today nine services are shared with more areas of collaboration always being considered. Within each of these companies and services are people dedicated to the mission of putting those we serve first and working together for a healthy community. INHS strives to: -Provide patient-centered, individual care -Value the integrity and worth of each member of the health care team, promoting personal and professional growth. -Make services accessible to all. -Seek to discover and meet the community’s continuing and changing health needs. -Provide local, regional, and national leadership in health care through education and research.
In 1997 Community Health Education and Resources (CHER) become a department of INHS. CHER was formed through consolidation of the four hospital’s community education departments for the purpose of working together to improve the health status of our community through education. This collaboration decreased the duplication being experienced by the major hospital systems in our community, saved dietitians, health educators, and support staff who are dedicated to improving the health status of Spokane residents and the surrounding area.
