| Impact of Changing Federal Policies on Public Hospitals |
|
With reduced public revenues due to the slowdown in the economy, many public hospitals already in dire straights have suffered further reductions in their core revenues. Policies promoted by the new federal Administration could further undercut the efforts of public hospital systems to survive in highly competitive environments. This session will provide an overview of current and proposed federal policies related to Medicaid and Medicare which could impact public hospital revenues. Several examples of strategic responses to these policy changes will also be presented. |
