A variety of different approaches to organizing health care have been adopted in different countries in the past few decades. Recently, efforts have been made to evaluate the performance of those systems both in terms of the equity with which care is delivered and financed, and in terms of their effectiveness in delivering care to those who receive it. Since health care reform within the United States has also taken a variety of different forms, this session would consider how the lessons which have been learned in evaluating the comparative performance of different countries systems might be applied to evaluating domestic reform efforts and proposals. | ||||
