The Department of Health and Human Services and the Ministry of Health and Population are currently collaborating with USAID to implement a prevention model loosely modeled after Healthy People 2010 in Cairo, Egypt. Healthy Egyptians 2010 was launched in Egypt on September 29, 2000. This panel will highlight Healthy Egyptians activities at the governorate level. | ||||

Learning Objectives: 1. Increase awareness that a disease prevention and health promotion program modeled on Healthy People 2010 translates well and reflects cultural and local sensitivities. 2. Provide a first year progress review for Healthy Egyptians 2010. 3. Generate discussion regarding strategies for implementing Healthy People 2010-like program at the state (governorate level). 4.
