The purpose of this session is to provide an overview of successful environmental health education programs. The papers in this session address a wide range of concentrations in environmental health education, and utilize various methodologies to provide the educational program. These presentations will provide attendees with information to develop programs addressing graduate level students, community based interventions, children, parents, and health care professionals. It also provides a range of cultural issues, providing information about programs in several countries. Cultural sensitivity, environmental health, and childrens’ health issues will all be addressed in this session. Additionally, the capacity for developing an interdisciplinary approach to environmental risk assessment/risk management will be discussed. Each of these topics must be considered when developing and implementing quality educational programs to address the public health needs of our communities. | ||||
