Descriptive data of the 77 SS/HS sites will be presented, including geographic diversity and urbanicity; prevalence of risk and protective factors in target communities and schools; SS/HS partnership membership and configuration; and selection of specific programs addressing the six SS/HS domains (school safety; safe school policies; alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention and violence prevention and intervention; early childhood psychosocial and emotional development programs; school and community mental health preventive and treatment interventions; and educational reform). National evaluation staff visited each SS/HS site, interviewing key participants and collecting pertinent information. This presentation will address fidelity of project implementation, including obstacles and how they were addressed; SS/HS program staffing; and changes in context and the implications for the SS/HS project. The ongoing SS/HS national evaluation includes extensive process and outcome evaluation to be conducted over the next several years. The descriptive information discussed in this presentation will provide important context for future analyses and findings.
