This project is intended to integrate data from several different child health activities into a common database. Existing universal newborn metabolic screening (NBMS) and newborn hearing screening (NBHS) data will be integrated with data from the existing "Birth Defects" surveillance registry [Colorado Responds to Children with Special Needs (CRCSN)] and an immunization tracking registry that does not exist at this time.
The primary purposes of the common database are to provide:
- Infant Case Management and Follow-up
- Data for Aggregation and Use in Disease Surveillance
- Information for Health Care Providers on their Clients
The presentation will describe the steps used to accomplish these purposes and will detail our current progress in establishing the integrated data system.
