Initially, our agenda focused on Agent Orange and health effects on American veterans. Later, interest broadened to include health aspects and effects of the war on Vietnamese, Laotians, and Cambodians, living in their homeland or abroad.
Because dioxin was the major toxic human contaminant in Agent Orange, the most widely used herbicide employed for defoliation and destruction of food crops, it has been of major interest to this caucus.
This meeting will review, at its two invited sessions, an update on health effects from dioxins, and governmental agencies reviews of health effects and classification of dioxins.
