The objective of the presentation is to discuss the effectiveness of screening tools for sensory neuropathy to detect patients at risk of foot ulceration. We will discuss the predictive value of the Vibramitor, the Semmes-Weinstein monofilament and the neuropathy star. These tools are non-invasive, and provide good sensitivity, specificity and positive predictive values to identify patients with loss of protective sensation.
