In 1998, Maryland began offering after-school abstinence-only human sexuality programs in multiple locations around the state. In this presentation, results from three years of evaluation of the various programs in Maryland will be presented. In addition, issues and problems associated with the conduct of the evaluation, and steps taken to address those issues and problems will be specified.
Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to explain issues associated with the conduct of evaluation of abstinence-only human sexuality programs in Maryland. Participants will be able to describe the impact of abstinence-only programs on the human sexuality knowledge, attitudes, and practices of program participants.
