In a panel format, the presenters will explain the role of the American Cancer Society in becoming involved in training leaders for coordinated school health programs. Included will be an overview of ACS philosophy related to school health, the processes used to select participants in the Institute, and an overview of the institutes that have currently been conducted. Of particular note will be a presentation of the status of coordinated school health and the results of a pilot survey of School Health Program Coordinators. The availability of on-line courses that could potentially be accessed by those in other professional preparation institutions for use with students enrolled in their particular institutions will be discussed, as will plans for the future involvement of those in professional preparation institutions
Learning Objectives: Participants will be able to describe the origins of the ACS National School Health Coordinator Leadership Institute. Participants will be able to explain how to become involved with the ACS National School Health Coordinator Leadership Program
