Representatives from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, the National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatrics will present the development of the second edition of Caring for Our Children: National Health and Safety Performance Standards: Guidelines for Out-of-Home Child Care Programs published in 2001. The Caring for Our Children is a tool to help public health professionals improve health conditions and create safe environments in the growing arena of child care facilities. Measures to broaden public health use of these standards will be discussed.
