T2B2 provides accessible, affordable and ongoing continuing education for public health professionals. The project is a monthly series of hour-long satellite broadcasts designed for New York state's local and state health department staff. The project is a collaborative effort of the NYS Association of County Health Officials (NYSACHO), the University at Albany School of Public Health (SPH), the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) and the New York State Community Health Partnership (NYSCHP). The series was developed as a result of requests from local health departments who were interested in non-degree continuing education opportunities. Each partner played a critical role in producing and publicizing the broadcasts. In addition, the project has strengthened the partnership between the organizations who now collaborate on other initiatives. NYSCHP, a coalition of hospital, business, health care trade and educational associations, joined the project and promotes the series to their members. The local response to the series has been wonderful. Besides tuning in each month, local and state health department staff are also using tapes of past shows for in-house training or to acquaint outside organizations with various public health topics. Professors in public health, medicine, and nursing are also using the tapes in class. Local cable area networks have re-broadcast much of the series for the general public.
