At Children's Environmental Health II: A Global Forum for Action, hundreds of delegates from around the world will have convened in Washington, DC September 2001, to examine how to integrate children's environmental health concerns into international public health and development agendas. These concerns were also raised at the UNICEF Global Summit for Children. What can public health professionals in the U.S. and abroad do to move this integration process forward? Why are environmental concerns key to reducing international health disparities? This session will examine potential answers to these questions as well as outline needed next steps toward addressing global environmental health concerns. See www.cich.ca/global.htm
Learning Objectives: 1) Participants will learn of at least four key global environmental health issues. 2) Participants will learn of important current frameworks adding environmental causes to global health disparities. 3) Participants will discuss potential next steps for addressing stated concerns.
