Many researchers performing population-based health research with homeless people are faced with challenges to successful completion. These challenges include the lack of baseline data, the mobility of the population, the multiplicity of problems that face homeless people and the cognitive impairment suffered by some homeless people. The authors are proposing a workshop to address these and other challenges. The authors will present some of the frequently encountered challenges and invite a panel of researchers of homelessness issues to offer solutions based on their experience. The workshop would include an interactive period during which workshop participants can ask questions of the panel about challenges they have encountered.
Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this session the participant will be able to: 1. Describe the challenges in performing population-based health research with homeless people. 2. Identify possible solutions to the challenges.
