The need for individuals from minority communities to join public health workforce with public health credentials is very crucial as their communities suffer excess mortality and morbidity from illnesses. However, Studies have shown that there is a dearth of representation of African Americans, Latinos and Native Americans in Public Health Professions. Their under representation is especially noted among individuals with Masters, and Doctorate credentials. Such under representation denied African Americans, Latinos and Native Americans the opportunity to develop programs and conduct research to eliminate the serious disparities in health access and outcomes by individuals from their own communities. Although the demographic distribution of the United States shows the percentage of minorities fast approaching Participants in this interactive session will explore methods and strategies to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in the public health educational pipeline and the workforce | ||||
