Law is an essential tool of public health practice. Despite its importance, a number of Turning Point States found during their planning process that the legal foundation for public health is inadequate. This session will describe identified weaknesses in the public health legal infrastructure, and explain Turning Point's effort to strengthen our nation's public health system and improve public health practice through a collaborative effort to modernize state statutes.
