An evaluation of the effectiveness of a community-based effort to change community and professional norms toward breastfeeding using two primary strategies: a public information campaign and an education program for health professionals who work with pregnant and new mothers in a low income urban neighborhood. Primary collaborators are the Pilot City Health Center, state and local WIC program staff, and the League of Catholic Women. The presenter will describe the project results, partnerships formed, lessons learned, and translation of findings into clinical practice to reduce health disparity.
