Analyzing longitudinal data on persons who use shelters and transitional housing services in a variety of geographic locations yields surprisingly similar patterns of user subgroups. A number of cities with such longitudinal data bases have worked together to develop comparable analytic capacities. Dr. Culhane will present findings from this work that suggest unique user cohorts, each with different patterns of entry into the system, differential lengths of stay, and different needs for assistance.
